Description Reduced to bone and teeth, I found this animal skull on the forest floor—a little confronting at first. The pale form with dark voids for eyes seemed almost otherworldly. Pausing to consider my find, the peaceful environment in which it sat softened my initial reaction, and I found myself thinking about nature's cycle of return.

Terra explores the quiet, enduring dialogue between land, structure, and time. Through a pared-back and intuitive lens, these photographs move beyond simple documentation to reveal the raw textures, shifting light, and latent atmosphere embedded in everyday environments.

Based in Mount Maunganui, Jay draws out quiet details, shifting light, and the subtle compositions often overlooked in everyday surroundings, revealing the abstract within the familiar.
