There’s a strong sense of balance here between structure and free-moving gesture, characteristic of Diane Parker’s practice. It echoes the familiar rhythm of a garden—planned, planted, and tended with care, yet ultimately shaped by forces beyond control. The paint behaves in much the same way, spilling across edges, softening boundaries, and following its own unruly momentum.
A solitary figure lingers near the doorway—quiet, still, almost in passage. It becomes a gentle reminder that we are not the owners of these vibrant, living spaces, but temporary visitors within them—moving through, witnessing, and belonging to them only for a fleeting moment.
