​South Waikato-based artist and gallery director Santie Cronje works at the intersection of abstract narrative, memory, and sensation. Having lived across hemispheres, her practice carries a quiet duality, drawing on the emotional and physical traces of the places that have shaped her journey.

​Moving away from earlier illustrative forms, she now employs an intuitive, painterly language. Rather than describing a specific location, her process seeks to hold the feeling of a place, allowing forms to emerge and dissolve through gesture and layers. Alongside her studio practice, she curates and hosts invitational exhibitions, fostering collaboration and an evolving dialogue within contemporary painting.
