Artist Bio

Auckland based artist, Rebecca Hawkins creates minimal landscape and floral paintings with a focus on the interplay of light, colour and movement. With an 18 year career as an illustrator and designer she continues to evolve her artistic voice. 

Rooted in a deep passion for painting, Rebecca is inspired by the ever-changing landscapes of New Zealand and intricate details that emerge when looking closely - like the subtle colour variations in flowers and rock formations.

Working mainly in watercolour & acrylics she adds detail with colour pencils or pan pastels. Watercolour moves on the canvas, and the subtle detail that pencil provides.
